MCERTS scope expansion - as seen on Edie
9/10/2008
Envirocare has recently had its MCERTS scope extended to include BS 6069 part 4.4, the monitoring of Sulphur Dioxide. By having the extension, it will mean our combustion gas monitoring service is fully complete, therefore meeting the highest standards and requirements of the Environment Agency. Having a complete gas monitoring service will not only raise our profile in the relevant sectors, but also be of great benefit to our clients who have previously not received MCERTS accredited monitoring from us. In addition to having our scope extended, we have also applied to join a pilot scheme to gain MCERTS accreditation for BS EN 14181 - Quality assurance of automated measuring systems. BS EN 14181 is the standard that describes the quality assurance procedures required to guarantee that Automated Measuring Systems are capable of meeting the uncertainty requirements on measured values as prescribed in legislation. We are hoping that this will bring in a lot of new work in a relatively new working sector for us (Continuous Emissions Monitoring). The scheme and accreditation should take around 18 months to complete.
