 Stack Testing MCERTS Changes

stack testing

8/10/2009

After November 1st 2009 all MCERTS accredited stack testing organizations will be required to follow the procedural requirements of DD CEN/TS 15675 (2007) - Air Quality - Measurement of Stationary Source Emissions - Application of ISO/EIC 17025:2005 to Periodic Measurements and BS EN 15259 (2007) - Air Quality - Measurement of Stationary Source Emissions - Requirements for Measurement Section and Sites and for the Measurement Objective, Plan and Report.

Of particular importance to you, the operator, is the requirement in BS EN 15259 (2007) to perform a homogeneity test (Clause 8) to ensure that representative sampling point(s) are chosen for monitoring. This is a mandatory requirement that applies to all stacks whose diameter is greater than or equal to 35cm.
